Common faults and solutions of rotor spinning machines

Rotary spinning machines are one of the important production equipment in the textile industry, but they may experience some malfunctions during use. Here are some common faults and their solutions:


1、 Spinning machine malfunction

Cotton feeding stopped

Phenomenon: During spinning, the probe deviates, but the roller does not feed cotton, resulting in spinning failure.

Reason: D1 in the circuit was broken down, causing current to not flow through the feeding coil Q2, resulting in no electromagnetic effect. The normally rotating helical gear and the cotton feeding roller cannot be engaged, making it impossible to feed cotton.

Solution: Replace the damaged D1 component.

Continuously feeding cotton

Phenomenon: After decapitation, the probe resets, but the roller continues to feed cotton.

Reason: D3 and D4 in the circuit were broken down, causing the current to form a loop, which is unrelated to the on-off of K. The electromagnetic effect of Q2 causes the cotton feeding roller to continuously engage with the normally rotating helical gear, thereby continuing to feed cotton.

Solution: Replace the damaged D3 and D4 components.

The reed switch K is burnt out

Phenomenon: The reed switch K cannot function properly.

Reason: D1, D2, D3, and D4 in the Q2 circuit or arc extinguishing circuit are disconnected, causing excessive current and arc formation, which burns out the spring of K.

Solution: Check the components in Q2 and arc extinguishing circuit, and replace damaged parts.

2、 Comb system malfunction

Comb iron wear

Phenomenon: After long-term use, the comb iron will wear out, causing faults such as intermittent yarn winding and tapping.

Solution: Regularly replace the comb iron and control the thickness of the yarn to reduce wear on the comb iron.

Loose accessories

Phenomenon: Loose accessories in the combing system (such as brushes, yarn guides, etc.) can cause faults such as yarn head jamming and breakage.

Solution: Regularly check if the accessories are loose, and tighten them promptly if any problems are found.

Bearing malfunction

Phenomenon: The rotor spinning machine has a high speed, and the bearings are prone to noise, overheating, and other malfunctions.

Solution: Regularly check the condition of bearings and grease, and replace or add oil promptly if any problems are found.

Drive shaft and gear malfunction

Phenomenon: After long-term use, the driving shaft and gears are prone to aging, damage, and other malfunctions, resulting in abnormal tension and noise generation.

Solution: Regularly inspect and replace problematic components to maintain the normal working condition of the system.

3、 Other common faults

Irregular and uneven stripes (corrugated yarn)

Reason: Poor installation position of the cotton feeding board, combing roller, and spinning cup in the spinning machine, or inverted teeth of the combing roller.

Solution: Strictly implement the cleaning cycle and maintenance cycle of the spinning cup, strengthen operation management, and ensure that the installation positions of each component of the spinning machine are correct.

The self stopping device for decapitation has malfunctioned

Phenomenon: After the breakage, the self stopping device did not stop spinning normally.

Reason: Improper probe position of the self stopping device, premature feeding of cotton roller, or unskilled operation.

Solution: Ensure the installation of the self stopping device for the broken end is normal, the working condition of the magnetic steel and reed switch is good, and strictly follow the joint operation sequence.

Spinning cup burned out

Reason: The electronic control circuit of the spinning machine has malfunctioned, causing the cotton roller to not stop rotating as required and the cotton strip to block the spinning machine.

Solution: Regularly check the electronic control circuit of the spinning machine to ensure that all components are working properly. If there is a malfunction, replace the damaged components in a timely manner.

To ensure the normal operation of the rotor spinning machine, the following points should also be noted:


Regularly clean the equipment, maintain good ventilation, and prevent dust, fibers, etc. from entering the interior of the equipment.

Follow the correct operating procedures in daily use.
