Seven types of tapered roller bearings, also known as tapered roller bearings, are a type of rolling bearing with a series of unique characteristics. The following is a detailed summary of their features:
1、 Structural characteristics
Separable design: Conical roller bearings belong to separable bearings, and the components composed of the inner ring, rollers, and cage, as well as the outer ring, can be installed separately for easy disassembly and maintenance.
Conical raceway: Both the inner and outer rings of the bearing have conical raceways, with tapered rollers arranged between them. The projection lines of all conical surfaces converge at the same point on the bearing axis.
2、 Bearing characteristics
Radial and axial loads: Conical roller bearings can withstand large radial and axial loads, but can only transmit unidirectional axial loads. Therefore, in order to transmit axial loads in the opposite direction, it is necessary to symmetrically install another tapered roller bearing.
Contact angle and load-bearing capacity: The axial load capacity of bearings is largely determined by the contact angle, and the larger the contact angle, the higher the axial load capacity. The bearing capacity also depends on the raceway angle of the outer ring, and the larger the angle, the greater the bearing capacity.
3、 Type and clearance adjustment
Diverse types: Conical roller bearings are divided into single row, double row, and four row according to the number of rolling elements. A single row tapered roller bearing has an outer ring, and its inner ring and a set of tapered rollers are enclosed by a basket shaped cage to form an inner ring assembly. The outer ring (or inner ring) of double row and four row tapered roller bearings is a whole with a spacer in the middle.
Clearance adjustment: The clearance of single row tapered roller bearings needs to be adjusted by the user during installation, while the clearance of double row and four row tapered roller bearings is given according to user requirements at the time of product delivery and does not require user adjustment.
4、 Scope of application
Conical roller bearings have been widely used in industries such as automobiles, rolling mills, mining, metallurgy, and plastic machinery due to their strong ability to withstand composite (radial and axial) loads and wide applicability.
In summary, the seven types of tapered roller bearings have the characteristics of separable design, ability to withstand large radial and axial loads, diverse types, adjustable clearance, and wide applicability. These characteristics make tapered roller bearings play an important role in the industrial field.
