Class II cylindrical roller bearings, also known as cylindrical roller bearings, are designed to withstand heavy loads. Their internal structure uses rollers arranged in parallel, with spacers or isolation blocks installed between the rollers to prevent tilting or friction between the rollers, effectively preventing an increase in rotational torque. The following is the usage method of cylindrical roller bearings:
1、 Preparation before installation
Cleaning: Before installing the bearing, it should be cleaned with gasoline or kerosene and dried before use. The purpose of cleaning is to remove grease, dust, and other impurities from the surface of the bearing, ensuring its cleanliness during installation and use.
Inspection: Check the machining quality of the mating surface between the shaft and the housing, the end face of the shoulder, the groove, and the connecting surface. All mating surfaces must be carefully cleaned and deburred, and the unprocessed surfaces of castings must be cleaned of molding sand.
2、 Installation method
Apply pressure: When installing the bearing, equal pressure should be applied on the circumference of the end face of the ring to press the ring in. Do not directly strike the bearing end face with tools such as hammers to avoid damaging the bearing. Installation can be carried out using specialized tools, machinery, heating, or hydraulic methods.
In the case of small interference fit, a sleeve can be used to press the end face of the bearing ring at room temperature, and the sleeve can be hammered with a hammer to evenly press the ring through the sleeve.
If installed in large quantities, hydraulic presses can be used. When pressing in, it should be ensured that the outer ring end face is tightly pressed against the outer shell shoulder end face, and the inner ring end face is tightly pressed against the shaft shoulder end face, with no gaps allowed.
When the interference fit is large, oil bath heating or sensor heating bearing methods can be used for installation, with a heating temperature range of 80 ℃ -100 ℃ and a maximum of 120 ℃. At the same time, nuts or other appropriate methods should be used to tighten the bearings to prevent them from contracting in the width direction after cooling, resulting in a gap between the ring and the shaft shoulder.
Lubrication: Cylindrical roller bearings should be lubricated before installation, and can be lubricated with grease or oil. When lubricating with grease, lubricating grease with superior properties such as impurity free, antioxidant, rust proof, and extreme pressure should be selected. The filling amount of lubricating grease should be 30% -60% of the volume of the bearing and bearing housing, and should not be too much.
3、 Check after installation
Rotation test: After the installation of the bearing, a rotation test should be carried out. Firstly, it should be used for rotating the shaft or bearing box. If there are no abnormalities, the power should be used for no-load and low-speed operation. Then, depending on the operating conditions, the rotation speed and load should be gradually increased, and noise, vibration, and temperature rise should be detected. If any abnormalities are found, the operation should be stopped and checked. It can only be delivered for use after the operation test is normal.
Fixed: For bearings that need to be fixed, appropriate fasteners should be used to ensure that the bearings do not shift or loosen during use.
4、 Usage and maintenance
Lubrication management: Cylindrical roller bearings require regular lubrication during use to ensure their normal operation and extend their service life. Suitable lubricants and lubrication cycles should be selected based on factors such as bearing speed, load, and working environment.
Inspection and maintenance: Regularly check the operation of bearings, including noise, vibration, temperature, etc. If any abnormal situation is found, the machine should be stopped for inspection in a timely manner, the cause should be identified and dealt with. At the same time, lubricants should be replaced regularly, and bearings and bearing housings should be cleaned.
Avoid overload: During use, bearings should be protected from excessive loads or impact loads to prevent bearing damage.
5、 Dismantling method
The disassembly of cylindrical roller bearings should use a suitable puller to pull out the bearings, avoiding the use of chisels, hammers, etc. to strike the bearings, in order to avoid damaging the bearings or shafts.
In short, the correct installation, use, and maintenance methods are crucial for the operational performance and service life of cylindrical roller bearings. During use, relevant regulations and operating procedures should be strictly followed to ensure the normal operation and safety of the bearings.
