When using welding robots for welding, problems such as biased welding and undercutting may occur due to equipment failure or improper operation. Below, the welding robot workstation manufacturer xizhang will explain the problems encountered and solutions.
① Welding deviation occurs. It may be due to incorrect welding position or problems in finding the welding gun. At this time, the accuracy of TCP (the position of the middle point of the welding gun) needs to be considered and adjusted. If this happens frequently, it is necessary to check the zero position of each axis of the robot and re-calibrate it for correction.
② Undercut occurs. It may be due to the selection of inappropriate welding parameters, incorrect welding gun angle or position, which can be solved by appropriate adjustments.
③ Porosity occurs. It may be due to poor gas protection effect, too thick primer on the workpiece or insufficient dryness of the protective gas. It can be handled by corresponding adjustments.
④ Too much spatter. It may be due to the welding robot selecting inappropriate welding parameters, problems with gas composition or too long extension length of the welding wire. The problem can be solved by appropriately adjusting the machine power to change the welding parameters, using a gas proportioner to adjust the mixed gas ratio, and adjusting the relative position between the welding gun and the workpiece.
⑤ Gun collision occurs. It may be due to deviation in workpiece assembly or inaccurate TCP of welding gun. You can check the assembly or correct the TCP of welding gun.
⑥ Arc fault occurs and arc cannot be ignited. It may be because the welding wire does not contact with the workpiece or the process parameters are too small. You can feed the wire manually, adjust the distance between welding gun and weld, or adjust the process parameters appropriately.
⑦ When the shielding gas monitoring alarm sounds, there may be a fault in cooling water or shielding gas supply. Please check the cooling water and shielding gas pipelines.
