The functions of seven types of tapered roller bearings (tapered roller bearings) are as follows:

Bearing joint loads

Conical roller bearings are capable of withstanding both radial and axial loads simultaneously, making them particularly suitable for withstanding combined radial and axial loads primarily in the radial direction. Its axial load capacity is determined by the contact angle (outer raceway angle), and the larger the contact angle, the stronger the axial load capacity.

Unidirectional axial load transmission

Conical roller bearings can only transmit unidirectional axial loads. When it is necessary to transmit axial loads in the opposite direction, another set of tapered roller bearings should be symmetrically installed.

High load-bearing capacity

The bearing capacity of a bearing depends on the raceway angle of the outer ring, and the larger the angle, the stronger the bearing capacity. For example, large cone angle bearings (cone angle 25 °~29 °) can withstand significant axial loads.

Adjustable clearance

The clearance of a single row tapered roller bearing needs to be adjusted during installation by adjusting the relative position of the inner or outer ring through the thickness of the spacer. The clearance of double row and four row tapered roller bearings is set according to user requirements at the factory and does not need to be adjusted.

Limit axial displacement

Conical roller bearings can limit the axial displacement of the shaft or housing in one direction, and are suitable for mechanical structures that require axial positioning.

Conical roller bearings are widely used in industries such as automobiles, rolling mills, mining, metallurgy, and plastic machinery, especially in heavy machinery and situations that require high loads.

Structural characteristics and working principle:

Separate design: The inner ring, rollers, and cage components can be installed separately from the outer ring for easy assembly and maintenance.

Conical raceway: The inner and outer rings have conical raceways, and the rollers roll between the raceways to reduce stress concentration.

Rolling friction: By using the principle of rolling friction, sliding friction is converted into rolling friction, reducing the friction coefficient and improving mechanical efficiency.

High load-bearing capacity: Compared to angular contact ball bearings, tapered roller bearings have a greater load-bearing capacity.
