Clinical significance:
1) Increased serum iron: seen in hemolytic anemia due to massive destruction of red blood cells; Aplastic anemia and megaloblastic anemia caused by red blood cell regeneration or maturation disorder; Lead poisoning due to low iron utilization rate or hematopoiesis reduction due to vitamin B6 deficiency
2) Low serum iron: common in iron deficiency anemia, acute or chronic infection, malignant tumors, etc
3) Serum total iron binding capacity increased: seen in iron deficiency anemia, acute hepatitis, etc
4) Reduction of total iron binding capacity in serum: medical education | education network | collection and sorting can be seen in liver cirrhosis, kidney disease, uremia and hemochromatosis
